About these terms
These terms cover the Meridian One Windows app ("the app") and this website. "Meridian One", "we" and "us" mean the people who make Meridian One. By installing, activating or using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Your licence
- We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on one computer, for the length of your key or trial.
- The free trial lasts one hour and is available once per computer.
- A key activates one computer. You may not share, resell, publish or give away keys. If you change computers, contact us and we'll move your licence.
- The app is licensed, not sold. We keep all rights in it. You may not copy, modify or redistribute it, or reverse engineer it to get around licensing, except where the law allows you to.
Acceptable use
Use the app only with devices you own or are authorised to manage. You are responsible for how you use it, and for following the terms of any app, game or service you use while your location is changed. You must not use the app to:
- break the law, or help anyone else to;
- commit fraud, or mislead people about where you are in order to harm them or gain from them;
- stalk, harass or deceive anyone, or interfere with someone else's device;
- evade emergency services, law enforcement or a legal obligation tied to your location.
Many apps and games forbid changing your location and may suspend accounts that do. That risk is yours, and we are not responsible for action a third party takes against your account.
Your iPhone and Developer Mode
The app uses developer services that Apple builds into iOS. You turn on Developer Mode on your iPhone yourself, and you can turn it off at any time. Pressing Stop, or restarting the iPhone, returns it to its real location. Apple's own terms continue to apply to your iPhone. Meridian One is not made, endorsed or supported by Apple.
Licence checks and revocation
The app checks your licence with our server when you activate a key and regularly while it is open. If it can't reach the server, it keeps working for up to 14 days before asking you to reconnect.
We may revoke a key that has been shared, resold, refunded or charged back, or used in breach of these terms. Where it's fair to, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to sort it out first.
Third-party services
Maps, place search and road routing come from independent services, credited in the app. They may change, slow down or become unavailable, and their data may contain mistakes. We'll do our best to keep these features working, but can't guarantee them.
Purchases
The price, the length of the licence and how to pay are shown before you buy. If you're a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights, including your rights if the app is faulty or not as described.
Warranty and liability
We build Meridian One carefully and test it on real devices, but we can't promise it will be free of errors, work with every app, or work with every future version of iOS or Windows. Apart from the rights the law gives you, the app is provided as it is.
We are not liable for losses that weren't foreseeable, for business losses, or for anything that results from how you use the app with third-party apps and services. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
Ending and changes
You can stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or end your licence if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. We may update the app and these terms; if a change is significant we'll tell you in the app, and the date at the top of this page will change.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law where you live, and can bring a claim there.
